To know
good from evil was connected to the Christian faith from the beginning (or Jewish faith if you want to see it that way). Adam and Eve, if we believe the story, were created good and they where supposed to know good from evil, but they forgot it when they met the person who had taken the form of a snake.
I suppose everyone knows the Christian creation story, so I don't have to explain more ... I think that from a psychological view it is interesting that it was their fear that made them forget about what was good and evil.
I am not up to find out if people believe in this or that religion. I just wanted to point to the fact that fear can make people so upset that they lie to themselves and others.
I don't excuse people when they act out of fear to protect themselves and put others down, because every person is responsible for one's actions and uttering's ...
I think we all will live well if we try to live honest and after the golden rule (and for our own wellbeing turn our back against those who
"trolls" out there in the world).
