I had......that is HAD.....intentions of just laying low & recovering after 4 1/2 years of critter care. Then I would think about getting another dog. Was still paying vet bills on my horse I lost & had just lost my last eskie doggie (JoGI) then my daughter's dog got sick & mom had to make sure he had every possible chance to more vet bills. Emotionally exhausted & drained. Yea, that lasted about a month & my neighbor came across this black lab at the bar they go to. Owner is a vet in town so lets the shelter bring in their hard to home dogs. Sophie was going to be put down the next day & my neighbor was sure I needed her. I am thankful she did. Sophie is a sweetheart & so good & well trained. Only quirk is her "drama queen" response when I come home.....but it is sweet excitement too. Totally have been blessed by adopting her & she loves walks & truck rides.....something I was missing with the elderly doggies I had. Yea I miss the pure bred eskies I had, but every season of life is different (though I will always be an eskielover) & my heart & home opened up to this sweet girl in need.
Lol....first night was bad....she whined at the front door like "I want out of here". Next day she was snuggling & giving me kisses as we sat together. Love & caring wins hearts
