Problem with calling cops is it can be narrowed down very easily to who has called them. We live in maisonettes. Me beneath them, with two properties adjoining. But, thanks for suggestion.

Decided to respond to the note. Did a written one as I know she is a liar. Challenged her words "at the moment" to describe child's behaviour. Reminded her that it was going on last year, when husband apologised when I was outside talking to another neighbour. Didn't add what he had said! Then I explained about my type 2 and the need for quality sleep. That led nicely into reason why I was returning the chocolate. At no time did I apologise.

So quiet yesterday evening did wonder if child had been palmed off to a nearby relative. However, heard her crying (not screaming) when time to get up this morning. Nothing when they were walking to the car.

Let's see how long it lasts.....
