Thanks for sharing your story. I am sorry for your ordeal. Unfortunately, toxic families often dismiss the problem and try to create a perfect image of themselves. Please know you are not alone and there are others like you. I could totally relate to your story, but in my case, it was my sister who turned my life hell. She would constantly physically or psychologically abuse me, and I was always blamed for it by my family for being a sissy or a wuss and blamed for not being able to stand up to her. My self confidence was so low that I couldn’t even carry out the act of running away. Similar to the police in your story, the school found out and did nothing. The principal even had a grin on his face when realized my sister would beat me up. Therapy has helped me a lot. Wish you the best.
