I have a bit of trouble when I'm ovulating, too. Not my mood so much (I don't think) but more stabbing pains sometimes... Do you get pain while ovulating at all or is it just that you notice the change in your mood?
I ask because pain while ovulating could be to do with low level PCOS symptoms (in which case the pill for hormone regulation could be just the thing).
I'm on the pill for medical reasons. The lowering of testosterone is what is needed for me (helps ovulation go smoother as the egg doesn't have trouble getting to the womb, helps smooth and clear my skin considerably, prevents my slight excess in body hair, fixes my moods which are associated with my cycle etc etc etc). It is just a side effect of the medication that lowers my testosterone (the pill) that it works as contraception (or would work as contraception if only I took it the same time every day). I'm not taking it for contraception at all... Might be worth thinking about...
