Learning to love yourself is really hard, especially if you're carrying around a whole lot of distorted beliefs about yourself from childhood. I've found CBT has helped me a lot - at least I can say I don't hate myself anymore - but I've got aways to go on actually loving myself.
This may sound hokey, but one thing that has helped me is to make a list of things that I do like about myself and that I'm good at, so that when I start to get down on myself I have something positive to read, and remind myself of my good traits.
Remember that you're a special person & that everyone has value as a person.
