Please don't press her to talk to you as long as she has a therapist, but encourage her to continue therapy. Search for motivating books at Amazon that perhaps can help her to see hope for herself.
The most important is that she understands that depression is not unique for her, but common and that many people has healed from in and more will do so in the future.
Good luck!

Thank you, rosi
We did buy her a kids anxiety workbook, that she's slowly been going through. Maybe we'll find her something about depression as well. She is, unfortunately, against the anxiety book, so I'm assuming she'd be even more against one about depression.
We're not putting her on any meds. My husband has a history of anxiety and panic attacks and was put on antidepressants in high school that only made him worse, and without an antipsychotic and mood stabilizer antidepressants make me manic. So we're doing meds as a very last resort.
