We're not putting her on any meds. My husband has a history of anxiety and panic attacks and was put on antidepressants in high school that only made him worse, and without an antipsychotic and mood stabilizer antidepressants make me manic. So we're doing meds as a very last resort.

Hi raspberrytorte. If you do get to the point of allowing your daughter to try meds, why not ask the psychiatrist about a moodstabilizer like Lamictal, or similar? It is good for bipolar depression with lower risk of causing mania than antidepressants. Low doses can help many people with few, if any, side effects, unlike other meds.
Forgive if I missed this, but is your daughter seeing a therapist?
