As a frog of little brain, I'm not sure we ever can put out past behind us. But the emotions associated to that part of our life will ease (not sure that's the right word)

My first husband beat the living tar out of me. It's still a part of my past. I still remember my 2 yr old son watching from the hall. I still remember seeing stars when my head hit the floor as my x threw me across the room. Now my view of that past is more rational and less painful. It is all there so I doubt it will ever go away. It is just that now I can see it from an entirely different perspective.

You have a lot you are going through and this is a very painful time in your life. I have faith that you will be able to put your past in perspective and be able to more on.
