I've had to have that particular chat before. I quite frankly had to make the providers in question sit down and make their case and reserve the right to stop the med if it wasn't working or if the side effects were too severe. I also added an implied "or else I'll just stop taking it on my own" if they tried to push too hard.

Luckily, I know my pdoc will listen to me, especially if I make my case. He'll be fine with the trazodone and prazosin. Probably not the Cymbalta though Last time I went off it I ended up overdosing.
