But the worst thing is not the most likely thing that will happen. Any of us could get in a car wreck and be killed, but that isn't likely to happen.

Someone (Edison?) said that failure is simply learning one way of doing something that doesn't work.

What specifically do you see happening?

Or is it that putting yourself out there to try is very frightening so fearing failure works for you by telling you it's to frightening or risky to try. That's hard to deal with because it can get in the way of your goals and dreams and passions. I don't know that this is even close to what you experience, but just an example.

If you aren't in psychotherapy, you might want to consider doing that to explore your personal fears about failure so you can live free of the fears and do all you want to do.
