My Pdoc said it’s not the lamictal withdrawal. Said to take my klonopin. ????

Hi HALLIEBETH. I can understand your doc suggesting the Klonopin for racing heart. I have a history of tachycardia, which my daily betablocker generally controls well, but sometimes certain triggers make me need something "as needed" as a supplement. My "as needed" Ativan (a benzo like Klonopin) always works beautifully. I'll be sad when my Ativan supply is depleted, as I'm still taking from an old supply from over two years ago that my US psychiatrist gave me. They don't prescribe Ativan in Czech Republic. Only other benzos, which they prescribe with great caution. My last pdoc prescribed pregabalin, not a benzo, as a replacement. It is helpful, but not for more extreme triggers. They were initially skimpy with my betablocker (metoprolol), but I had to really push for the higher dose. So, I know how uncomfortable, and sometimes scary, racing heart can be.
I hope you feel better soon.
