Years ago a wasp stuck between glasses frame and nosepad while I was riding my motorcycle. Chose not to flick my faceshield down on the highway that day. Had long hair at the time and something kept tickling my face during the 15 miles or so to the park outside of town. All the way out there I kept pawing at my face with a gloved hand thinking it was an errant hair from my ponytail. Weird I thought but what else could it be??? When I finally got off the bike and my vision wasn't being buffeted around, I could see that something was moving around my nosepiece.

Taking off my specs I saw there was a wasp stuck headfirst and still alive. The tickle I was getting were his front legs or antennae brushing against my cheek while on the other side of the lens his stuck butt was furiously poking around looking for something to sting. I couldn't save him because he was a little busted up but man oh man...I figure I was lucky. I was running all over the campsite showing everyone. I never did remember when the thing hit me but on the highway without a proper shield your vision is pretty bouncy and the wind may have added to camoflaging the impact. Anyway...that's all. Longish story but yeah...wasps are serious little fellers. I keep wondering what could have happened. Last time for no shield I can tell you that.
