My weekend has started on a sour note. A while back, I had a tooth break courtesy of an aggressive bite into a deceptively hard cookie. I didn't go to the dentist at the time because it didn't hurt and well, the time and money involved in the visit with no dental insurance. Well, it's hurting now and I can feel an abscess on the gum underneath the surviving tooth fragment.

Since it's Sunday, I can't really see anyone. So, I'm working with pain pills that aren't really working and the baking soda brushing (and sometimes poultice) and hydrogen peroxide swish home remedies that are working surprisingly well.
I'm nervous about my teeth going forward. While I'm not toothless by any means, I have lost more than a few teeth due to a combo of food mishaps and general carelessness. I'm very concerned about two teeth essentially sitting by themselves. Cosmetics aside, I'd rather not lose two more teeth because they're not supported by the teeth around it. Dentures, implants, bridges, something. I'm not above engaging in a bit of medical tourism if the price is too high here. Always wanted to go south of the border.
Tomorrow, I've got to stall the electric company and let them know I can pay the bill I owe them, just not on Monday. My own fault getting this close to the deadline, but I've got the money. Just have to wait for the bank to cash the check after the Juneteenth bank holiday. Gonna be an interesting few days!
