It’s your second day on a job. I’d say being quiet is totally understandable. I think it might be better than appearing to be “know it all” and inserting yourself in every conversation. And you had to eat dinner with people you just met! Of course you were quiet especially since it’s a work situation. I’d be surprised if you said you were the life of the party. Take your time.
