This is a dilemma for sure. No one wants to burn their bridges when moving onto another position. Do you have vacation time coming to you? Two weeks worth? Tell them you are taking your 2 weeks vacation now and that is also your 2 week notice??? Just a thought...it may not work for you.

Sometimes we have to do what is right for ourselves. Opportunities don't always come along easily and it's dog eat dog out there in the job market these days. I'm sure that your employer has had things like this happen before and it will certainly happen again. Bottom line is that if you need to make more money to survive (rising prices put us there all the time right?) then you have to do what you have to do. I also work in a similar line of work and know that the pay for these kinds of jobs is the pits. It's the bottom of the barrel so to speak. Leaving clients is never easy and it can weigh heavy on your heart as well.

Maybe making a list of pros vs cons will help you with your decision?

Wishing you well!
