I'm a contractor at a high tech company. About every month, I run out of things to do. I'm afraid that my manager will decide she doesn't need me, so I'm hesitant to ask for more to do right now.

But... Every morning my team has a meeting where we talk about what we're going to work on for that day. I need something to say or it won't look good. I could just say I'm updating or editing web pages, but that will be realistic for only a few days.

I really like my job when I have things to do. So I'd rather not have to be back on the job market unless absolutely necessary.

What would you do?
