If we're talking sensitive in the emotional/mood sense, I used to be very much so when I was younger. I'm talking fits of panic and anger until the age of 11. I don't know how it worked, but someone took me aside and in the process of calming me down, said the lines: "Don't sweat the small stuff and nothing is the big stuff." It was like a light switch moment in my young mind. I guess you can say it gave me permission to not have to treat everything in my life as life-or-death important. I could prioritize.

In a physical sense, there's been more than one moment where a friendly person's unexpected but unthreatening touch made me jump like I received an electric shock.

Have any of you guys experienced a similar hypersensitivity to physical touch?
