I'm from UK so.... it was Margaret Thatcher who was Prime Minister of the UK when I was born. Scotland hadn't gone independent in reference to a parliament until late 1990's. Scotland's First First Minister was Donald Dewer lovely man in 1999. Scotland still isn't fully independent from the UK. We have our own government we have some of our own laws and protocols ie education and health system "devolved powers" but a lot of laws and protocols are "reserved powers" as in the UK as a whole has a say in them
