So earlier this year I had a fibroscan of my liver. The results came back that I had stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver and it was enlarged. I went to see a new doctor, and last time I saw him, I asked him directly if I do have cirrhosis. He didn't answer except to tell me about dieting and exercise. About a month ago, I went to the hospital for something else, and they did a CT scan which happened to show the liver. My liver is normal size... So I saw an NP gastro on Monday and she doesn't believe in the validity of fibroscans. She's ordering me a CT scan of my liver with and without contrast. She thinks I just have a fatty liver because my enzymes have also been normal and I have no symptoms of jaundice or liver failure. I'm nervous and hopeful for the CT scan. I kind of need to know what's going on with my liver.

I'm also dealing with really bad insomnia. I can only sleep 2-3 hours at a time a night. I don't know why. If it's due to pain, nightmares, breathing, meds??? Idk!

Possible trigger:

That's quite a jump in the space of two appointments. A Liver biopsy will tell you for certain .They can also look at your liver enzymes. If you had stage 4, the Jaundice alone would make it very obvious and your liver is failing.

Don't think I've ever seen a fibro scan done personally.

You have recently been very stressed out about G + L and your father on top.

Do you drink milk? Have a wind down routine?
