My Lamictal/Abilify combo helps as long as I'm also working extremely hard taking care of myself (maintaining good sleep, going to therapy, journaling/tracking symptoms, showering every day, eating healthily, getting in at least 30 min. of enjoyable physical activity every day, going outside, keeping my environment clean, staying away from substances, doing something grounding a few times a day, keeping in touch with supportive folks, etc.) For me it's half meds half lifestyle.

Not that I'm currently doing all of that. And guess what? I'm kinda depressed with sprinkles of psychotic symptoms.

edit: just wanted to respond to Nammu and add (instead of making another post), that DBT is pretty awesome at helping people function better, which over time makes them feel better. I was in DBT and it was starting to help, but I got kicked out for missing too many sessions in a row (I was inpatient/residential). I'm trying to get back in it.
