I don’t mean it’s as bad as like South Boston, Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan, etc. but if you drive around, half the year (when the weather ain’t crap) it’s all day trippers from Boston or part time residents from Southern NE/NY. Same with here (lakes region). I live in a town with no lakes though, only a couple ponds, so we really don’t have the tourists. Just the people who can’t afford to do anything the Bostonians and New Yorkers can (But the alcohol is much cheaper!!!!!)
The rest of Maine is extremely rural. Lots of logging.
