Ugh, I'm so sorry. Good p-docs do exist--I've had them. He just sounds really weird and like he gets off on having authority over others. I'd consider filing a complaint if that's an option. Is there anyone else you can see instead? Maybe try a female, if at all possible? I seem to prefer male T's and female p-docs (and primary care doctors), for whatever reason.
