My thoughts.

It’s an unfortunate repercussion of bullying that the bullied person often will look inwards and blame themselves for not being able to stop the bullying. However usually their scope for stopping the bullying is limited.

As a child you had very limited options at that time open to you, yet I can see that you chose what should’ve been the sensible option- to report the bullying to a counsellor. Not enough was done. I’m seeing this situation as being a failure of the professionals duty of care and responsibility towards you, not as a failure as you, yourself as a child to protect yourself. They were the ones who should rightfully have taken control of the situation. They didn’t do this until much later.

It’s funny how these situations come back to us as adults, once we are in responsible situations ourselves often. Is there anything going on in your life that pulls your thoughts back to this time?
