Personally I think the tech to clone a human likely exists. That said I also doubt the sci-fi 'clone' horrors of fiction will ever be a reality. Some of the population tend to have over-ripe imaginations on a lot of topics but that's probably just part of us being human. JMO [just my opinion]

I doubt people think that whatever happens in sci-fI books and movies will be a reality. I don’t know anyone who thinks that. Cloning or anything else. That’s fiction. I don’t think there is a concern about people having over-ripe imagination. People enjoy fiction about all kind of stuff and for all kind of reasons without assuming it’s about to come alive!. That’s a nature of fiction.
Yes technology for it likely exists. But there’s no massive cloning of humans taking place.
