Yes technology for it likely exists. But there’s no massive cloning of humans taking place.
If you take a closer honest look around at our fellow humans you'll find an inordinate amount truly believing in some pretty far out belfry guano. Where yuh been?

My point is not just to do with the conspiracy mindset but in the proliferation of alternative facts on a very broad spectrum. A HUGE problem in our times. Social scientists and others who study human behaviors are quite alarmed and rightfully so. Data/info on those concerns isn't difficult to find. It's a pretty big topic these days.
