I will always remember Tim Russert best on the election night in 2000 with his white board. Somewhere around 3 or 4 AM, Russert had worked out a scenario whereby since the Senate was 50-50 at the time, Al Gore would cast the deciding vote for himself for President. Since I had been up all night with him, of course it made perfect sense to me! I refused to go to bed until Tim Russert told me who the president elect was!

My husband had dinner with him at a fundraiser a few years ago as well. He said that Russert was warm man that was very open and conversational...and also very bright.

He will be missed.
