Had to take Hazel to the vet again yesterday. Ever since she came to live with me there were times I wondered if she was limping or if I was seeing things. Couple of weeks ago I was certain of it. Over the weekend it was obvious she was favoring her right hind.
Off to the vet we go. I figured it was arthritis. It's not. She tore her ACL. Surgery will be 4-5000! I love my baby girl, but holy crow!
The vet and I decided on a non-surgical route to see if it helps. She's on leash walk only for 4 weeks plus an anti-inflammatory med. After the four weeks we'll see how she is doing.
I've been doing some research about treatment options. Obviously there's surgery.. There's a knee brace available. Or we can just treat her with pain meds as needed. Going to try rest/meds first to see if that helps.
