I've been seeing the same T for 9 years now and I really like and respect her and she has helped me an incredible amount. But her practice is about 1/2 clinical psych and 1/2 academic (research and teaching) and she also gets called as an expert witness on trauma and abuse a lot. This past year she's been doing a lot more teaching / testifying than in the past which means she's had to shuffle my appointments around a fair bit. That's normally ok with me, I really don't mind. But today she e-mailed me saying she couldn't do my rescheduled appointment and could I come Tues. at 4;40. That would mean I'd have to leave work at 3;30. which I just can't do.

I'm in a new job and still on probation until the beginning of July - the company's already been great about letting me work flex time so that I have Mon. afternoons off for treatment without asking quesstions and they've been ok with me coming in late a couple of times after early morning pdoc appointments. I jsut can't ask for more time off for medical appointments. I've explained this numerous times to my T, but she just doesn't seem to get how it works in the private sector, and I really need to keep this job.

I guess that I'm just pissed that I've told her repeatedly that I can't ask to leave work early to see her, and she still asks me to.

Maybe I'm just grumpy - but this means I probably won't get a session this week, and we processed some pretty heavy stuff last week that I could really use to talk about.
