It probably has nothing to do with you at all. When my pdoc went from private practice to academic she took some patients and helped a lot of others find pdocs. She specializes in difficult cases, mainly BP and schizophrenia, and so those are the patients who went with her. I don't think she took many people with depression alone at all. It could be the reverse with your pdoc.


My eye doctor once dumped me and I later found out that he had opened a new practice with very expensive custom frames. Essentially you had to be rich to see him anymore and he judged wealth as the measure for dropping people. He's right, I couldn't afford him but I still was hurt and felt judged.


And Tart Cherry Jam may be right and it's as simple as insurance. Mental health places don't like to take medicare for some reason (money I know).
