How do you know what meds you need and what ones you don't?

Trial and error?

My pdoc isn't very helpful. The only med he wanted to wean me off of was gabapentin and I don't want to go off my gabbies. That's a bad idea. He thinks gabapentin is why I'm so fat. I don't think gabapentin is why I'm fat. I've been on it for over ten years.

I took myself off my pointless meds already. The only meds I'm on right now that I think could be pointless are Lamictal and loxapine, but I just don't know. And maybe Cymbalta, but last time I tried weaning off that I ended up overdosing.
