sorry - sounds awful. Sunburns are no fun. Up here you can get a spray at the pharmacy for after sun exposure - I think it's called apres Sun (not 100% sure on the name.) I think it has aloe in it, and it's really good and soothing.
Plain old Noxema works well too. Remembered from when I was a kid.
