Tangentially related: I actually love the word supper. I learned British English as a child and adolescent and when I moved to Texas at age 21, I was so sorry to see that American English was so different from the British that I had learned, but eventually I adjusted. One word I still miss is supper.
Oh gosh, I didn’t know that supper wasn’t a thing stateside?

On the same tangent you might know supper can be a formal dinner later at night or just an informal snack.
