Dealing with it and "cutting" the legs off are both shyt ideas. I don't know if that's the point, but if it is I don't get the point of the story. There are infinite bad ideas.

Idk the point of bed frames. Just put a mattress on the floor. I've either been sleeping on the floor on a camping sleeping pad or a couch for years now because I can't sleep on mattresses. When I do sleep with a bed, I'm under it haha.
