I had surgery in January. I don't think I had to stop any meds a full week before surgery. But I think I was supposed to stop all meds 24 hours before. I was only taking birth control pills and anti-biotics, so it wasn't a hardship. For the BCP, I just waited until after the surgery to take my dose. It was the hospital surgery center who gave me instructions on stopping meds before surgery, rather than my doctor. If you have questions, I would call the surgery department for the best information--your own doc may not be as knowledgable about interactions of different meds with anesthetic, etc.
