My mother fell in her bathtub today. This is a couple of months after another fall at her work.
She managed to get out of the tub and somehow got dressed and called me.
I went over right away and found her sitting in her favorite chair. She was shaking and nervous and I looked at her injuries, bruises and a cut on her hand. We talked for a while, I made her coffee and I helped to calm her down.
She only has muscular injuries and some bruises. Bones and connective tissues are ok, thank goodness.
She's very independent but was clearly shaken by this, which is completely understandable. I stayed with her for a number of hours and my son spoke to her over the phone after I left. I'll find out how she's doing tomorrow morning.
