Hopefully the Darvocet will help you. Are there other treatments which can help you in the meantime - ice? heat? massage? stretching? TENS? exercise? warm baths? pain-relieving creams, like capsaicin cream? If it were me, I'd try to use all the other things I know that help in the meantime. It's hard going without medications, but so necessary for the surgery to go the best way possible. I've had multiple surgeries and had to stop meds too, so I feel for you...sending many good wishes your way....
