My father passed away a year and a half ago, and we moved my mother "kicking and screaming" across 2 states to be with us so we could take care of her. She is miserable, refuses to see a counselor, claiming psychology is witchcraft. This feels especially hurtful since I am a counselor myself. Furthermore, she claims that people bring demons into our church. She has no friends of course, because who would want to be friends with her when she's like that? And she complains because my family goes "out and about", which only affects her if we go away for a whole week because she only spends weekends with us anyway. We have tried giving her more time with us, but then she complained about that. I have tried 2 weeks in a row to confront her and put my foot down since she is codependent and taught me to be codependent (although I'm learning to free myself from it), but she refuses to think any differently and says I'm the crazy one.
