I have heard of this as I do work in the medical field. I do think that it's a little out of the ordinary. I can tell you from personal experience, when I took my 8 month old son to a new pediatrician, there was an incident where the nurse left my "8" month old son alone on the counter and he fell backwards and hit his head on the faucet in the sink. Had I not been there to catch him, he would have fallen off the counter that was at least 4 feet high. I started yelling at the nurse and told her that this was unacceptable as no one should leave a baby unattended on a counter, let alone a trained profession. Needless to say, a few days after that appointment I received a certified letter stating that they would no longer accept my son as a patient due to the above described incident. I made it apparently clear that I would never bring my son there for treatment as I feel the staff was neglectful and undertrained. I did know the reason for the DR to send me this letter. I'm not sure what to tell you, other then i would leave an urgent message with the administrator to contact you back ASAP for answers. I hope all goes well for you. Please keep us posted.
