we used Norton for years, but in the last update download we took from them there was a worm, it took us 5 months to get rid of it & Norton were very unhelpful. we ditched it.

deleting service pack 1 could well be the way to go, don't know if anyone will remember but us, but when the first service pack for windows xp came down it was so bad that most people did delete it & wait a few months (could have been a year in the end) while the glitches were fixed
