I tell. you, I was in the military once but am not a violent person, in the least. The only reason I did what I did while wearing that uniform is because everyone you ran across really don't care much for guys in American military gear. You might say they became right hostile about it at times, and you never knew what the crap they were going to shoot at you. That being said, I was raised to be a southern gentleman, thought I was born and lived in Germany till I was five. When I was coming up, you called older people, Sir or Ma'am unless they were a peer. When someone was speaking to you, you did not interrupt them, get angry, raise your voice, you replied using good diction and were thoughtful about stuff. If someone needed help you rendered it, and did not expect anything for it. When you were in other people's homes, you were on you best behavior, used proper manners. Even when I was much younger, if you were not in school, you worked, putting up tobacco and or in hayfields in the summertime. My parents were quite affluent, and could be generous, but you learned the value of a dollar by working for them when you could. My father once told me that amaking a B in school was for bad, you worked hard to make them all A's. I will just tell you, some of the younger people I encounter in this country now, even some my age or older really test my good temperament and strict policy of nonviolence. I am an ex Army Ranger that is six feet and three inches tall. Unwise to get me in that state, though people drive me insane now with their lack of manners and their big mouths, which would be all too easy to shut. Luckily, my good temperment always wins the day, I avoid people like this and my small circle of friends are like me. Gone are the days people were raised as I was, and the answer to the essence of the thread... They are that way because they are gigantic buttheads with no pedigree, or parents that made you walk the line, in a good way. Most of them just have not ran into someone like me with a bad temperament yet, most usually eventually do. Then they discover that they just don't show big well trained men like me respect but everyone as they certainly deserve to be. There is absolutely zero excuse for ill-mannered behavior or being disrespectful to someone. That is a bad game to play that ends with only one conclusion, for those that do act that way they will find this out in an unpleasant manner. Zoey the Mangler, my chihuahua takes care of my light work like that. She is formidable and ruthless, and the meanest thing on four legs.
