Great glad to hear you are getting a gift card. You may have already applied for temporary assistance through social services, but there may be additional programs you qualifry for Temporary Assistance | OTDA
Another option to consider is places in your community that offer free meals.
If you are in a rural area you might ask farmers if they have any unsalable produce they might let you have at a reduced price.
This seems different than the first link I gave you above; it has rental assistance and SNAP benefits plus others Programs and Services | OTDA
If you are a senior then check with the senior center in your community. Also the town or city may have programs to help peopl e in need.
If you belong to a church they often help people.
