That’s how my husband became a nurse. In his 40s. Not from finance field but science research field. He wanted for a long time but circumstances didn’t allow. He finally said I am done. And my mom switched careers completely at 50. She became a chef and restaurant manager. She was a civil engineer her whole life. They just pursued their either long time dreams or sudden urge. It’s never too late
I also know a woman who became a chef and restaurant owner after a long and successful career in software engineering at a FAANG company. She took all the risks and a pay cut to pursue a passion.

And I know a certified nurse midwife who retrained in later life after being a system administrator, another comfortable and well-paying career in IT.
