Honestly in my experience the only time I was given written contract and I had to sign one were jobs that are more of a professional jobs. I worked variety of other jobs in my life and I never had any written contract given (for example retail or food service). Ever.

That’s right. The manager threatened to rescind the job offer if I couldn’t start working there asap. Ugh! So I reluctantly agreed to start there sooner.
They are short staffed now. I signed a ton of paperwork for a delivery driver position. The good thing is that my pay is in writing as well as instructions on how to handle the food & the orders as well as how to input tips too & how to fill put the customer forms & receipts. That’s good to know as I’m forgetful, lol.
