It turns out she did get back to me after I tried 1 more time. She apologized and said she remains in the hospital and meant to get back, but never did. She said a lot has been on her mind, and they've been trying to help her get some pain under control. She did state she is starting to feel much better than before, but is still hospitalized. I was relieved to hear from her and understand that she just has a lot going on. She said it was good to hear from me again, and everything seems to be fine in terms of the friendship.
