I know in my case I've thankfully "matured" in my BPD actions. I don't think it happened on purpose ,just that I've grown up and am not willing to be hurt or abandoned by people I thought were friends. I tend to watch how I act with new people so I'm not rejected. I still have a strong sui and self harm part to me.
I know I dissociate ,especially if I feel threatened or triggered by something.
I don't know if what I'm saying is helpful but I DO know that regardless of BPD, you are you and most likely a very nice, competent person.
