Often I look in a general direction & it may LOOK LIKE I am looking at something/someone but my mind is a million miles away in thought that has nithing to do with what it seems I am looking at. No smile, no acknowledgement of seeing anything, she was probably in tgought not looking at you. Also just because you recognized her doesn't mean she recognized you if she was looking. I have had that happen many times too
