I think it was a combo of things: first, I made a meds screwup the week before the mania started or possibly longer b/c so many meds of my meds (namely the round white tablets) look SO much alike.

Also, Hurricane Beryl hit something like the 6th or 7th, last week Monday whenever that was. We were out of power 24 hr. The weather was so humid and hot and there were heat advisories. We toughed it out here 12 hr, but I knew there was no way I'd manage to fall asleep, so we went to my sister's house (she got power back 12 hr. sooner than we did), but between the stress of the hurricane and sleeping in a strange bed, I didn't get much sleep there.

Then, my mother & aunt had a HUGE argument and both kept texting me all about their sides of the argument and how they were right, blah, blah blah...as I was already unraveling. Now, I realize they WERE out of power for 4 days (though my parents had a generator), but still they KNOW I have bipolar and that stress sets it off, and I was already stressed having lost all the food in my refrigerator (not the freezer at least), but I didn't have the foods to make the meals I'd planned and a lot of grocery stores nearby still didn't have power or weren't delivering yet. Not to mention meal planning stresses me out SO much, way beyond proportion, though H is a picky eater, and my daughter even pickier. So I was stressed about the meals and really didn't need their drama.

So really, it was the perfect storm...
