@LonelyLioness01 welcome to MSF. I am sorry you feel so pessimistic about your job prospects. Read on and I will tell you how I developed job experience by volunteering.
Many non-profits cannot afford to pay an IT person so they advertise in one of the many listings of sites that recruit volunteers. Google "volunteer websites United States technology"
Another option If you google "IT volunteer jobs internships in New York" there are many options.
Even if you have to live with your parents for a year while you volunteer you can get the experience you need.
To do your parents the biggest favor, give up the idea of "just ending it" - as DocJohn founder of this site says "Don't give up your shot." I have nothing to lose by facing uncertainty or even failure. Thomas Edision ran 10,000 experiments that all failed until the last one succeeded. He never ever would give up and I hope neither will you.
