I think you're wise to decline another med, since it is a cycle that happens. My rage used to really flare then too. Now I'm beyond the age of periods, thank goodness.
I noticed that if I ate extra good (little sugar, salt, caffeine) and got extra exercise, it really helped a lot. But I still was so so tired at that time. For the tiredness, I just planned for it and rested, did quiet things like rent movies, read.
And even though I watched my sugar intake at that time, without a doubt chocolate helped tremendously. M&M therapy.
